Challenge
The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) is the Nodal agency for conducting Entrance Exams for admissions to professional courses. The Government of Karnataka established common Entrance Test Cell in the year 1994 for conducting of entrance test and determining the eligibility/merit, for admission to the first year or first semester of full time professional courses for Government share of seats in Medical, Dental, Indian systems of medicine and Homeopathy, Engineering, Architecture Courses, Farm Sciences etc.
Post the entrance tests and results, the candidates from across the cities in Karnataka were supposed to come to Bangalore to attend the counselling sessions for seat and course selection. This was creating a huge burden on the families of the students to travel from far off places to Bangalore, come and stay in hotels and lodges in advance and take up the counselling.
Solution
The organization was looking for a dependable IT Solutions provider to suggest and provide a technology based solution to overcome the issues faced by the parents and students at large year after year. Rooman Technologies in association with KEONICS made the transition to Decentralized counselling across the major cities from Centralized counselling being held at Bangalore by the Plan as seamless and painless as possible by outlining a defined process, communicating thoroughly with the server and applications in the centralized data center, and composing a clear and strategic plan for the organization to follow throughout the changeover from one centralized location to multiple decentralized locations.
Rooman Technologies took the complete responsibility of executing the project with the supply of required equipment, Installation and configuration of LAN and WAN connectivity within and between major cities in Karnataka, provided with MPLS connectivity with redundant links from different ISPs for backup, Installation and configuration of access control and closed circuit television monitoring for secure, fair and transparency in the seat selection process.
